How to get involved

The world of work and business is changing at an incredible pace with new technology defining many job roles that previously never existed and other roles disappearing completely. Enabling businesses to work alongside schools, helps to ensure that both teachers and pupils have a better understanding of current and future job roles across the full range of sectors in the Black Country.

The Black Country Skills Factory works to link business and schools in the delivery of programmes co-funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company. These programmes look to improve the careers provision in school by accelerating the achievement of the 8 Gatsby benchmarks (what ‘good’ looks like in Careers Education in Schools).

Businesses can engage with schools in the Black Country in a variety of different ways; through volunteering for the Enterprise Adviser NetworkOpening Doors to local schools and colleges in the Black Country, or by offering to 'Give an Hour' at their local school or college to support an Enterprise day.
