The Black Country World of Manufacturing week takes place in November each year and offers a week of celebration and education about the sector as a whole. The sector is enormously important to the Black Country and embedded in the regions history.

For young people, this week-long programme is perfect to help them develop opinions regarding what they may or may not like to do in the future, including things that they may never have thought about. For the manufacturing and engineering sector, bridging the skills gap is a huge challenge that can only be achieved by reaching out to the next generation. Currently, £2.7bn of the Black Country's GVA is attributed to Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering with around 68,000 people employed in this area.
