Stewart Towe, CEO of Hadley Group and Chair of the Black Country LEP has unveiled a life size facia of No 10 Downing Street at Hadley’s Downing Street in Smethwick. This will stay in place until the end of the election period in 2015.
This large frontage covers what was, many years ago, the all-important "number 10" on the front of its building,
Stewart Towe said: "It may be a tongue-in-cheek association, but Downing Street in Smethwick has been home to all of Hadley Group's important decision-making since the business was established fifty years ago. Today it's our global headquarters and four of our international manufacturing centres are based here in Sandwell."
"The decision to expand into the full production space available at our very own 'Number 10' was highly strategic, enabling us to manage the significant growth being enjoyed across the business. The entire bay has been redesigned to accommodate cranes and operate as a full scale production facility. It's also a reflection of Hadley Group's continuing investment in UK manufacturing: a commitment that underpins our status as Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation winners 2014."
