More than 40 per cent of job seekers attending the latest Wolverhampton Hospitality Jobs Fair have landed interviews with city employers.
Almost 500 people attended the event at City of Wolverhampton College’s Metro One campus on Thursday.
It was organised by City of Wolverhampton Council’s Wolves at Work team in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, the college and Adult Education Service.
Exhibiting employers were Molineux Stadium and Conferencing, Greene King, Army Reserves, Holiday Inn Hotels, Ramada – Park Hall Hotel, Sodexo, McDonalds, Casino 36, YOO Recruit, Premier Inn, Remit Group, Marston’s, and Park View Hotel & Hamilton’s restaurant.
Job opportunities available included front of house/reception, bar work, waiting, housekeeping, kitchen assistant and chefs.
City of Wolverhampton Council, Director of Regeneration, Richard Lawrence, said:
“Sector-based jobs fairs are becoming increasingly popular with employers and job seekers.
“The local hospitality sector employers were particularly impressed by the presentation and suitability of job seekers aged under 30.
“The employers are particularly keen to take advantage of the new transport links to Wolverhampton, Wolves FC’s success and the 2022 to Commonwealth Games to help grow their businesses.
“Building strong relationships with them will help us ensure City of Wolverhampton residents have access to these potential jobs.”
The annual City Jobs Fair will take place on Friday, September 13.
