Help for older or vulnerable people

The council is working with partners to put a range of services in place to ensure that no vulnerable person in the community is left unsupported.

There’s lots of really useful information at for older or vulnerable people, their carers, relatives and friends.

Councillor Nicholas Barlow, cabinet member for adult social care, said:

"We all have a duty of care to look after older or vulnerable people in our communities and there’s never been a time when this is more important than now.

"I would encourage everyone to check-in on their elderly relatives, neighbours and friends and find out if there’s anything you can do to help.

"You can find out more about supporting older or vulnerable people and how you can get involved in the community’s response at

Dedicated phone lines have been set up to provide support where it’s most needed.

Older or vulnerable people who are feeling isolated can call Dudley Council’s Pleased to Meet You Service on 01384 812 761, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm for a friendly chat and advice about getting supplies.

For those who access adult social care services and need support or advice contact Dudley Council’s adult social care helpline on 0300 555 0055 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 0300 555 8574 at all other times.

Carers who need advice and support can contact Dudley carers hub on 01384 818723.
