Growth Deal proposals well received

The Black Country LEP has received positive feedback from Government on our Strategic Economic Plan submission for £56m in 2015-16, from the Local Growth Fund and an additional £5.7m of transport project funding.

The feedback recognised we had taken tough decisions to produce a well considered list of 16 priority projects, with a robust evidence base. The requested freedoms and flexibilities, developed from our City Deal experience were considered a good mix of short, medium and long term areas for development.

We continue to refine the project business cases, the government has yet to confirm the announcement process and date which is expected to be mid July.
