Black Country LEP to attend Advanced Engineering 2016

The Black Country LEP (BCLEP) will attend the Advanced Engineering 2016 show when it returns to the NEC in Birmingham on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 November.

Advanced Engineering is the UK's largest meeting place for advanced engineering professionals; bringing together OEMs and tier 1 manufacturers to meet and do business with all sectors of the engineering supply chain including aerospace; automotive; motorsport; transport; civil engineering and more.

During the two-day event, BCLEP and the Black Country Growth Hub will come together on stand J81, to showcase the Black Country as a great place to do business and will fly the flag for the region’s engineering prowess and inward investment opportunities via its High Value Manufacturing (HVM) City Digital Platform, its brand new rail supply platform – OnTrack WM, and BIM WM – a framework for developing business capabilities to drive competitiveness.

HVM City is an interactive platform, designed to showcase investment, supply chain and procurement opportunities and support the advancement of leading design, manufacturing and engineering opportunities in the Black Country.

OnTrack WM is an online supplier and procurement portal specifically designed to capitalise on the planned £50bn HS2 programme.

Director of Investment and Growth, Wayne Langford said: “The HVM City digital platform builds on the Black Country’s reputation as a centre for High Value Manufacturing.

“By articulating inward investment opportunities, driving supply chain development and integration, and supporting major contract delivery through the development of virtual models, HVM City will be the ‘go to’ resource for details on all investment and supply chain opportunities in the Black Country and we are excited to be showcasing it at the Advanced Engineering Show.

“We are driving growth into local supply chain and developing the skills of our business base through the development of BIM capabilities”.

In addition to its show floor containing 700+ exhibiting suppliers, partners and industry bodies, Advanced Engineering hosts the largest Open Conference of its kind, providing expert industry intel, latest technology and innovations case studies, and supply chain opportunities delivered by OEM programme managers, and industry experts.

The team will be available during both days to discuss the digital platforms – visit them on stand J81: Black Country HVM City within the Rail Tec area.
