A hat-trick of nominations for the Midland Metro Alliance in West Midlands construction awards

The Midland Metro Alliance has been shortlisted in categories celebrating collaboration, innovation and people development by the judging panel of the 2019 West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards.

The awards, promoted by the Chartered Institute of Building West Midlands and Constructing Excellence Midlands, recognise the excellence of local organisations in working in the built environment sector.

The Midland Metro Alliance has been recognised in three separate categories:

  • Innovation – for the development, with supply chain partner ACO, of a new style of drainage box during a maintenance project which has since been made available for use on light rail projects across the globe
  • Integration and Collaborative Working – recognising the organisation as an excellent example of alliancing and collaboration
  • People Development – for the alliance’s ongoing work in upskilling local people and offering career advice and guidance to the region’s young people.

Alejandro Moreno, Director of the Midland Metro Alliance, said:

“We’re delighted to discover that we’ve been shortlisted in three categories at the annual awards. These awards are judged by our peers in the region so this makes the nominations even more important to us.”

Earlier in the month, the Midland Metro Alliance was listed for the second year running, by the New Civil Engineer, as one of the top 100 companies in the civil engineering industry.

The West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards will be taking place on Tuesday 12 April in Broad Street, Birmingham.
