The government announced a £900 million Get Britain Building Fund to deliver jobs, skills and infrastructure across the country. This investment is being targeted in areas facing the biggest economic challenges as a result of the pandemic.
It is supporting the delivery of shovel-ready infrastructure projects, agreed with mayors and Local Enterprise Partnerships to boost economic growth, and fuel local recovery and jobs. For projects to be considered successfully, they must be deemed value for money with a strong Benefits Cost Ratio with planning permission approved and able to deliver within an 18-month timescale.
