The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (BC LEP) provides a business-led approach to economic development for an area with over 35,000 businesses and 446,000 jobs supporting a total population of over 1.17 million people.

Our vision is to create the conditions for enterprise to flourish, by tackling the barriers to private sector growth, resulting in greater economic prosperity across the Black Country.

In the Government’s National Assurance Framework and more specifically, it’s ‘Strengthened Local Enterprise Partnerships’, it set out it’s ambitions for LEP Boards to improve their gender balance; aiming for equal representation of men and women by 2023 and an aim for a minimum of a third women’s representation on LEP Boards by 2020.  With this in mind, the BC LEP is taking a positive action approach and are specifically seeking female applicants – ideally from retail, health and care or corporate property sectors.

We are looking for individuals who can bring a depth of experience aligned to our strategic aims and able to make an active contribution to the work of the LEP, as well as demonstrate integrity and commitment.  Potential Board Members should be able to take a strategic view and engage quickly with issues facing business.

Along with an up to date CV, 'Expressions of Interest' are welcomed and new members will be appointed by a panel, which will be drawn from BC LEP stakeholders. Appointment will be on merit alone.
